CLASSES
Pre-COVID I was teaching five classes a week, two on Tuesday and three on Thursdays. Each class was 2 1/2 hours long, all materials and equipment were provided except canvases which could be purchased at cost directly from the studio. Each person works on a painting of their choice and I facilitate the painter to accomplish their goals for their particular painting and style to the best of their ability. Classes are small with 5 to 7 painters. Classes can be purchased in bundles of 6 for $125.00 or for $25.00 each.
I have taught art (painting, drawing in a variety of mediums at various levels in the education system public and college levels) for thirty plus years. I pride myself in being able to individualize my instruction and coaching to the particular needs of each person.
WORKSHOPS
In my Studio and at off site locations chosen by the group
A group can hire me to do a specific type of workshop. I can teach watercolour, acrylics, Casein, oil, drawing, and pastel.
Participants can provide their own materials and equipment or I can provide them. Due to this prices vary. My price for prep and driving plus instructional time and clean up is $35.00 an hour. If materials and equipment are needed then those thing are additional. Class sizes may vary from 8 to 15. If you are interested in a fun paint party please contact me for further details.
ART SHOWS
Group Shows and Private Shows
I have regularly done Group Show "Carey and Friends" myself and most of the painters in my classes. I also have done private shows of just my own work. Shows include "the Bruce Peninsula Art Show at Lions Head, The Griffin Gallery in Owen Sound, The Artists' Co-op in Owen Sound to name a few.
EN PLEIN AIR
It is lovely experience to get out of the studio and paint on site.
During the good weather I try to offer some workshops, single day or over a weekend.
